After researching the Spanish construction market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

Market Review 2000-2004:

The Spanish construction industry continued to show substantial nominal growth throughout the review period from 2000 to 2004, albeit at a deteriorating rate, increasing its share of the overall European market from 9% in 2000 to 11% in 2004. Furthermore, the share of construction of the total Spanish GDP continued to rise from some 6.9% in 1997 to 8.5% in 2001, with a slight reduction to 8.3% during the following year.

Market Forecast 2005-2009:

The Spanish market is expected to retain its share of the European construction market at 11% throughout the forecast period to 2009. Although the Spanish economy is expected to remain relatively strong during the forecast period, growth in the overall construction market is anticipated to slow down and, indeed, towards the end of the period, output is expected to decline in real terms.
