Market Review 2007-2011:

The level of fees gained by quantity surveyors is necessarily affected by construction trends, and fees fell by 10% in 2009, but the recovery apparent in 2010, when growth of 14% was achieved, has not continued into the current year, and fee levels are only expected to increase by 3% to £1999.5 million.

Market Forecast 2012-2016:

The driving force for the quantity surveyor will be the construction market demand, and the outlook for the various sectors served are very different currently. Overall this is likely to reflect in a static market in 2012, a 3% reduction in fees in 2013 and then a slow and very weak recovery.
