Overall, demand is believed to have increased by 25% between 2000 and 2004 despite declines recorded at the start of the review period.

Market Forecast 2004-2009:

The volume of paper and board sold through paper merchants is expected to increase moderately for the majority of the forecast period, highlighting a degree of over-supply in many sectors of the market. Between 2004 and 2009 MBD expect demand to increase by 15% in real terms, with particularly strong growth of 8% anticipated during 2005.
