After researching the UK industrial flooring market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

Market Review 2004-2008:

In contrast to year-on-year increases between 2004 and 2007, the UK market for industrial flooring fell to £55.2 million in 2008, compared with a peak of £65.6 million in the previous year. Furthermore, the fairly considerable decline of 16% in the latter year almost fully negated respective growth of 14% and 3% in 2006 and 2007, although overall, MBD believe that the market grew by 6% over the review period.

Market Forecast 2009-2013:

MBD believe that the market for industrial flooring in the UK will decline by a forecast period peak of 14% (in real terms) in 2009, taking overall value in the year to an estimated £47.4 million (at 2008 prices). Following this, further reductions are expected between 2010 and 2012, although the rate of decline is expected to slow from 6% to a marginal level during this period.
