Industrial Market Research Reports byMBD MARKET RESEARCH REPORTS |

Released: September 2010 After researching the UK industrial fasteners market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report: Market Review 2006-2010: In 2009, UK apparent consumption of industrial fasteners declined by a significant 26% to £582.3 million. This is largely a result of the significant downturn in UK car production during the year, and also reflects reduced construction activity. However, sales of industrial fasteners are expected to return to growth in 2010, as there are signs of a recovery in the automotive sector, although construction activity remains subdued. Indeed, demand for industrial fasteners is anticipated to increase by 11% to £647.4 million in 2010. However, this still represents a 19% decline compared with 2008, when sales peaked at £801.8 million. Market Forecast 2011-2015: The UK market for industrial fasteners is anticipated to increase throughout the five year forecast period up to 2015, although annual growth levels are anticipated to remain moderate at between 1% and 3% in real terms. In the short-term, market development is expected to continue to be hindered by the uncertain economic conditions, which are likely to continue to exert a downward pressure on key enduse industries. In 2015, the value of the industrial fasteners market is forecast to reach £714.5 million (at 2010 prices), representing overall growth of 10% in real terms compared with the current year.
