Released: November 2010 After researching the UK foundations market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report: Market Review 2006-2010: Demand for foundations work is believed to have declined by a moderate 1% to £474.8 million in 2010, consolidating the 21% decline in the previous year. Prior to this, increases of 9% and 8% were recorded in 2006 and 2007 respectively, indeed, market growth prior to the recession largely reflects continued growth in construction activity, with strong demand evident in the public residential sectors, along with rising output in major civil engineering projects. Market Forecast 2011-2015: The value of the UK foundations market is projected to increase by a moderate 1% in 2011. This reflects the anticipated slow recovery of the construction sector and the involvement with projects such as the London 2012 Olympics. Growth rates are expected to remain moderate throughout the forecast period, nonetheless an overall increase of 14% is expected between 2010 and 2015, taking the value to £542.1 million in the latter year. However any forecast of the UK foundations market made in the current set of conditions inevitably carries a greater level of uncertainty than would typically be the case.
