After researching the UK engineering products distribution market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:
MARKET REVIEW 2000-2004:
MBD believe that the UK market for selected engineering products typically handled by engineering distributors has declined overall in the years between 2000 and 2003 by 15% to £4324 million in the latter year. However, the value of the market in 2004 is believed to have been increased by 2% in nominal terms to £4408.3 million.
MARKET FORECAST 2005-2009:
The total UK market for selected engineering products typically handled by engineering distributors is mature and therefore likely to develop along with general engineering activity. Growth is projected to be moderate for much of the forecast period culminating in an anticipated overall increase of 2% compared with 2004. Trends in the different sectors are forecast to vary.
