PRESS RELEASE: UK DENTISTRY MARKET RESEARCH REPORT

RELEASED: DECEMBER 2008

After researching the UK dentistry market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:

MARKET REVIEW 2004-2008:

Total UK expenditure on NHS and private dental care is expected to increased during each year between 2004 and 2008. Total spending is anticipated to increase by 6% in the latter year, taking sales to a review period peak of an estimated £6736 million, consolidating stronger growth of 12% recorded in 2007. Overall, total spending on UK dentistry is projected to increase by an estimated 34% during the five years under review. This can be attributed to increased Government funding into NHS services and greater demand for private dentistry as a result of to restricted access to NHS dental care in recent years.

MARKET FORECAST 2009-2013:

UK expenditure on GDS and private dental care is projected to increase by 3% to £7831 million (at 2008 prices) in 2013, equivalent to overall cumulative growth of 16% compared with the latter year of the review period.
