MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:
The UK market for catering equipment is believed to have increased during each year between 2003 and 2007, taking the value of the market to £830.8 million at MSP in the latter year. Overall the market is believed to have increased by 8% compared with the beginning of the review period. Annual growth rates have moderated since 2004, reflecting the impact of more subdued economic growth and rises in interest rates on consumer confidence and business investment.
MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:
The UK market for catering equipment is anticipated to increase during each year between 2008 and 2012. In the latter year the value of the market is anticipated to reach £907.1 million (at 2007 prices), representing overall growth of 9% in real terms compared with the latest year of the review period. Demand for catering equipment is expected to be partly generated by anticipated growth in the fast food and public house catering sector as well as by the further anticipated expansion of the catering market.
