After researching the UK architectural ironmongery market development and taking into account various other factors the following conclusions can be drawn from MBD's report:
MARKET REVIEW 2003-2007:
The value of the UK market for architectural ironmongery is believed to have increased year-on-year during the period under review, to £1157.4 million in 2007. This represents estimated 6% growth in the year, and a 16% increase compared with 2003. The development of the market since 2003 is a reflection of performance of the UK construction industry, which has reported buoyant conditions throughout the review period, particularly within new housing output and office construction sectors.
MARKET FORECAST 2008-2012:
The UK market for architectural ironmongery is expected to increase during each year of the forecast period, to £1336.9 million (at 2007 prices) by 2012. Annual levels of real term growth are projected to peak at 4% in both 2009 and 2010, to £1266.4 million (at 2007 prices) in the latter year. More moderate real term growth rates of 2% and 3% are anticipated in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Overall, demand is expected to increase by 16% in real terms between 2007 and 2012.
